Are you passionate about creating a digital world that truly understands and caters to the needs of young people? The Telstra Foundation is thrilled to announce the second year of its Youth Advisory Council, powered by PROJECT ROCKIT. We want to harness the vibrant diversity, insightful perspectives, and boundless creativity of young people like you.

Apply today! Applications close Monday 17 March 2025.

What is the opportunity?

We know that the best way to understand the needs and interests of young people is by including them directly in conversation. So, we’re inviting up to 20 young people in Australia, aged 12-18, to come together regularly to help steer the direction of Telstra Foundation’s work. Your job will include coming up with ideas, giving feedback on projects, creating content that helps and resonates with other young people. You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in events and be featured in media.

The Telstra Foundation Youth Advisory Council will be an important platform where your ideas can influence how the Telstra Foundation supports the digital lives of young people. If you’re eager to make your mark and contribute to shaping a digital world that reflects the aspirations and needs of young people, we want to hear from you.

Here’s what past council members had to say about their experience

"With so many exciting opportunities, the YAC never had a dull moment! My favourite memory was learning how to use our new vlogging kits and brainstorming content as a group. If you are someone that is keen on youth advocacy pertaining to technology and social media, then I highly recommend joining the Telstra Foundation YAC."

-Rispah, 17

"My name is Samuel, resident of Queensland and proud member of the 2024 Youth Advisory Council. With the help of the Telstra foundation, me and many others have taken our life experiences and expertise to shape the 2024 Youth advisory council and the digital index. The Telstra Foundation made this a reality, and I want to thank them for the support this past year. The youth advisory council has been like a family to me. I strongly advise others to apply and join this amazing family as they will support you through everything and it is such a great opportunity."
-Samuel, 15
