As PROJECT ROCKIT approaches one million young Australians reached, the organisation is investing in the foundations that will help sustain and scale its impact for years to come.
For nearly 20 years, PROJECT ROCKIT has been helping young Australians navigate bullying, online safety, digital citizenship and wellbeing. As it enters its twentieth year, the organisation is preparing to reach an incredible milestone: one million young people impacted through its programs.
Over more than a decade of partnership, Telstra Foundation has had the privilege of supporting PROJECT ROCKIT as it has grown from a grassroots movement into one of Australia’s leading youth organisations. Together, we share a belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive in safe, inclusive digital spaces.
With growing demand for support from schools and communities across Australia, PROJECT ROCKIT is now entering an important new chapter. While its workshops and programs remain at the heart of its work, the organisation is also focused on strengthening the foundations that sit behind that impact.
This includes investing in the systems, infrastructure and long-term capability needed to build a more sustainable future. From improved supporter engagement and fundraising technology to streamlined processes and a long-term growth strategy, these investments will help PROJECT ROCKIT strengthen its ability to reach more young people over time.
One visible part of this next chapter is the launch of the Give a Buck about Bullying campaign. More than a fundraising campaign, it is an opportunity to build a broader community of supporters who believe every young person deserves to feel safe, connected and included. By inviting more Australians to be part of the solution, PROJECT ROCKIT is laying the groundwork for long-term growth and sustainability.
"People see the workshops, the student voices and the impact in schools. But behind all of that is the work of building a sustainable organisation that can continue showing up for young people year after year. This next chapter is about creating the foundations that will allow PROJECT ROCKIT's impact to grow well into the future."
- Rosie Thomas, Project Rockit
At Telstra Foundation, we believe creating lasting change requires more than great programs. It requires strong organisations with the capability, systems and resources to grow and thrive over the long term. That’s why we support partners not only to deliver meaningful impact today, but also to strengthen the foundations that will enable even greater impact tomorrow.
As PROJECT ROCKIT approaches the milestone of one million young Australians reached, we’re excited not only by what it has achieved, but by what comes next. By investing in long-term sustainability, building new communities of support and creating the foundations for future growth, PROJECT ROCKIT is helping ensure that even more young Australians can benefit from its work in the years ahead.
